“Be the change you want to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
John is running for MP because he wants a change in the way we approach politics and the way we build our society. He believes that the voters of Carleton—Mississippi Mills want something to vote for, and he knows that the Green Party has the vision and the imagination to deliver it.
John and his family have lived in the riding for 21 years. He knows the issues that concern citizens. With two children of university age, John has seen the school system at all levels and from different angles, including his time as School Council Chair.
John’s high-tech career includes management and executive positions in companies ranging from start-ups to large multinationals. He understands what companies—and entrepreneurs—need to build the economy, build jobs and build our community.
In recent years John’s career has shifted from high tech to green tech. He is now helping companies reduce their footprint on the planet while maintaining efficiency. He believes that we have to walk the walk in all aspects of our lives. From service on neighbourhood and community associations to his current role as CEO of the Carleton—Mississippi Mills Federal Green Party Association, John believes that we should all give back to the community in a way that works for each individual.
John isn’t all seriousness. Far from it. He’s a piper in the Highland Mist Pipe Band. And as any piper can tell you, the bagpipes require a sense of humour.
